X2 steering cable

Whats the OEM part number for the steering cable on an '89 X2. I've called John from JSS, he's working on it, however atlantic jetsports lists two different part numbers for the same year ski. What is the difference? Any help is much appreciated, John and I are both curious of the answer.

I was thinking in 89 they may have switched back and forth from the direct steer to the squirrel cage setup. Maybe it's a different one for each. I know they come out a little different on the bulkhead.

This picture is from a ski with the direct steer, notice the steering plate at the bottom of the steering shaft, it's bent. The Squirrel cage setups use a flat steering plate. I know this because I just assembled my X2, and had to go ron an old hull with a squirrel cage to get the right steering bar. Just make sure which setup you have, and then go from there.
I actually have a steering cable, it should be from the squirrel cage model. LMK and it's yours for maybe $15 shipped? You could try it out and just make sure it's what you need.

My ski has the bent steering plate on it. Maybe I'm off on the year, either way what does this "squirrel cage" look like. The part numbers John from JSS came up with are 59406-3711 and 59406-3712. He and I are both stumped. As far as I know my x2 has direct steering, hooks up to a bent plate, then goes straight down to a water tight fitting at the back of the engine compartment.

does your steering cable come out of the bulkhead and connect directly to the steering arm? If so you have direct steering and the PN I listed is correct.

I show the 59406-3712 listed for '88 & '90 X2's and 59406-3711 is for '88-'95 nozzle trim

If you have the items listed as "reference hand pole" then you have squirrel cage steering

He has the direct steer. Go with the first number. My old 89 had the direct, but I've read that SOME of the 89's had the squirrel. Maybe they started using that towards the end of that year, and for 90.
