On small hubs root angle is never a problem, large hubs it can limit your ability to make drastic changes. The impeller is moving too slow at the root to contribute to anything other than pushing water outwards. Large hubs just fill a dead space and prevent water from recirculating back under the inside portion of the blades.Blade root angle plays a big part in how much you can tweek the impeller. General rule 1mm on the trailing = 100 RPM depending on HP. Some other tricks are adding a "Kick" to the blade.
I completely disagree big hub small hub root angle plays the same role.On small hubs root angle is never a problem, large hubs it can limit your ability to make drastic changes. Well, okay. You cant change the root angle but you can make any 30 year old straight pitch small hub work a lot better by bending the outside edges into a camber. It is impossible for the root to propel water aft because its moving slower than the jet stream. Someone finally thought of filling that area and now we have the large hub impellers.I completely disagree big hub small hub root angle plays the same role.
So do I, but that part doesn’t matter. Getting the load right is extremely important but few riders seem to realize it. Impros made it a simple item on the list for superjet riders many years ago. Kawasaki guys never had it that easy so those skis got a bad rep for having no “ low end”.I run Pennzoil 40:1.
Trust me it matters, but a cut back Stock SXR prop works wonders on a 750 equipped X2.So do I, but that part doesn’t matter.
