650/X-2 X2 Love

I am a mechanically inclined 16 year old male that one day decided to get that 1990 Kawasaki x2 running that has been sitting in the garage since I could remember. I decided to get this ski running when I saw all the pics/vids of people doing flips rolls. Since I had nothing better to do with my summers I didnt really want to start hanging out with the wrong people and do bad things. I charged up the battery and try'd to start It, the starter turn the engine so I knew it wasn't sieze so I know it had to be something with the fuel/oil. I cleaned the gas tank replace fuel lines oils lines gave it another try, and it started fine I just had to give it gas with the throttle, If I don't then it dies but other that that it's perfect. Took it to the lake had the best time of my life and I am now an x2 finatic!!

I really want to start rebuilding some skis now!

Welcome to the addiction!!!! Hope you have a job to support the need for more speed lol :brap:

This site is good, but over on pwctoday .com you will find it much more populated with X2 love

Are there any mods already done to the ski?

No mods, just wanted to get it running and make sure it stayed running. I noticed you have an x2 gen 2 I really would llike to do a build on one of those, how does it preform and how's the weight?

I love it. Mine is a light weight topdeck that uses a SXR bottom deck. Some people love em, some hate em. It just depends on how you set it up. I'm not positive on the weight. Lots of gen 2 talk over on pwctoday. There are a few guys making the light weight gen 2's now.

There's a guy that is willing to give me 2 hulls top and bottom for 3,000 my friend wants a gen 2 and is willing to split the price, I don't know how the weight is on that but he says their hand layer not shot from a gun. I don't know what to do about the engine, theres a blowsion 8 something cc big bore but that's 4g!! I wouldn't have enough money to do anything with my x2. My other option is just to go buy these two x2 hulls for 200 and do a god build on those, Ive seen an x2 on here that has a really cool rounded hood that I want to do.
I don't know what to do :/ I've seen the Japanese with the gen 2 just blasting rolls and backflips, but with my current x2 I can barley get a foot of air of my own wake.

Is that 2 complete gen 2 hulls for 3000? Is it the guy that just made the thread about him making his own? To my knowledge, he doesn't have any water tested or complete yet. If your gonna spend that much on a motor, might as well go DASA. I'm running a ported 750 and it rips! Hits harder than any 701 SJ I've seen. You can always do a gen 1 build, there are countless things you can do to them! Totally customizable, and cheap to begin. The Jap skis you see are light weight aftermarket hulls (no one in the US makes one) with huge pumps, and 1000 pluss CC's.

A good start with the gen 1's is a pipe, head, and carb. That setup have plenty of power until you ride a 750 x2 lol

Yea that's two complete, I found the guy on eBay messaged him and got that price, with the x2 I've seen so many different things done to them, but there are a couple parts I can't find for them like a steering stem.
Do you know where to get a nice engine for pretty cheap other than a dirty eBay engine
also I've seen a carbon fiber gen 2 on pwc today which I really want

Go over on PWCtoday and start reading. That's more often Kawasaki and X2 guys. TheX is more yami and aftermarket hulls.

There are a few company's making gen2 hulls. The GTX2, trinity, and bullet racing. Do a little background on anyone you buy a hull from is all I can say.
When something sounds too good to be true it is. 2 hulls for $3000 that then need $7,000 more to get them in the water. When you can buy a built done hull for less than $5,000 from well know hull builders.

We sell all the parts you can't find, like hinges, seat hardware and stems.

And twinturbostang I looked on you site and didn't see any stems, how can I get one?
Before I go to the lake today does anyone know how I can get my ski started without pulling the throttle?
