300/440/550 X2 hybrid hull idea

I just had this dumb idea to take a 750 SX hull that is leaning against the back of the shed and seperating the bottem deck from the top and doing the same with one of the 5 spare X2 hulls I have. I wonder how the two would fit together.

Why would I want to do this you ask?

My "Theory" for doing it.

Deep V nose design won't ride like crap in chop.

750 pump ready to go

Motor is set further to the rear which is better for freestyle.

"Problems"

I think the hull is considerably narrower than the X2 but haven't looked at it in a while.

The set back motor will be really close to the back wall of the top deck.

I don't have enough time to do any weird projects like this but I might get busy with the Sawzall if I get ambitious some night........

I like the idea, I'm not sure how well it will work however, I'm not sure that they will line up.

On a side not I picked up a 'cheap' X2 hull recently and I'm trying to think of somthing to try with it. I'm open to suggestions. . .

Crab has a pretty good bottom hull mod that he did last winter. I've been thinking of doing something similar but with a deeper v up front and larger chimes in the back.

Unfortunately my squarenose was worth to much money to put the sawzall to so I sold it for $400. It had tubbies on it though and was reinforced except for the busted nose. I will go out with the tape maeasure today if I thk of it.

Hey Pete how much of a gain do you get from the 750 pump? I was talking to the guys at Skat Trak a couple of weeks ago and Greg said that the gain wouldn't really be noticable, even on a highly modded 750 X2.

Pete,

I am thinking of hacking off the bottom deck of my 95 X2. It was crashed years back and i repaired it. I was never really happy with the repair job. I have a guy interested in buying it but now that I am finally out of college and working so making 50 bucks on a spare hull isn't a thing to me. I would rather cut it apart to see what's hidden in there. I was thinking a square nose bottom too. I was tempted to try and fit it to an 800 but knew it the 800 would be far too wide. I posted somethign liek that over on PWCT. In a few weeks I will probablycut it apart. I will let you know how that works out.

The reason I like a 750 pump is it is ready for a big hub conversion like the TBM cone or mag pump and you can run any 800 or 750 impeller without modifying it. It cost my $150 to ge tthe TBM in my 650 style pumps plus I had to monkey witht he impeller.

The hub is also set back 6mm closer to the stator which is a good thing too.
