x2 chopping

when people chop the 1", or so, off of the back of their x2s, i notice that they also cut the sides of the pump cavity, and the top, above the nozzle, even when using the stock trim and nozzle. why is this? that area doesnt affect the ride as it doesnt hit the water.... and youre losing the rear eyelet and making the seat overhang.

why not just chop the hull on either side of the rideplate and maybe back to the original length on the sides of the pump cavity?

just wondering

seadoolakeboy has the nicest cut one I have seen. it keeps the eyelet and has a nice curve around it.

thats what i figured would be the best type of cut... only on the bottom, then curving back to stock as you go up the side of the pump cavity.
