650/X-2 X2 650 w/ mods dying after 20 mins

The ski will run like hell for about 20 mins, but then stalls/dies. I can start it again shortly thereafter, but it just sputters (enough to drag you through the water, but not enough to get up on it). I let it sit for a while and then it seems to return to normal (for another 20 mins). I thought I read somewhere that it could be the stator and when it heats up it could short or something. Any thoughts?

I don’t think so, it’s brand new. But I’ll def check again just to be sure
