The part that bolts on to the carb shaft that the cable hooks to,the aftermarket ones are round instead of half moon shaped, they have a series of different holes drilled around the circumference of the drum for different cable hookups, there are also a couple of different size drums.

Yeah I am not a fan of the longer throttle cables. They end up rubbing more stuff and wear a hole in themselves or another part.

I just wish someone would import throttle wheels for a Keihin from Japan! You can get them everywhere in the states for a Mikuni.

The bracket you need bolts to the carb using two bolts near the top by the flame arrestor. It is just a flat piece of steel with a little twist in the end of it. When I had my SBN, these holse were not tapped. I had to do that myself.

But once you get a drum and the right bracket, it makes hooking up a SBN on an X2 painless. I had your problem once and everyone told me to just use a 650 SX throttle cable. F that! that isn't the best way to do it. Especially when the drums and brackets are readily available.

Perfect. You guys are the best.
If only I could open the Hot Product catalogue. The Watcon is prettyr expensive. I also found one on PJS.
At least its still winter up here!

I'm using the cable that was on the ski I stole the engine from... A '94 XI SS. I'm using the bracket that mounted to the motor mount that was on the 44 SBN when it was in the SX.

So what do you guys with keihin carbs do to solve the problem?

Use a 650 SX throttle cable that pulls from the bottom.

Sato Engineering sells a billet wheel like the UMI or ADA but it is made to work on a Keihin 42mm blue carb.

Someone please tell me where to get one here in the states... Is jet Wave the only option?
