X scream 865 head gasket

Hey guys, new to the forum.

I have recently acquired a rrp hull with a 865 x scream setup in it. All was great until today I have water pouring sealing out at the head gasket. My questions are 1. Has anyone dealt with this? And secondly where can I find a new head gasket/ if it even has one?

It will be an O-Ringed head. X-Scream will have them as well as Jetmaniac, Thrust, etc.
I keep a spare set on hand at all times for just such scenarios.

Did the head bolts come loose?

1211 is your head "water gasket". The big dome O-Ring. is a Mcmaster-Carr # 9464K441 . -044. I use Teflon super lube on all the o-rings and 1211 on the outside perimeter. Keep an eye open for ANY sort of corrosion in the surrounding o-ring groove on the domes. Get a spare set of domes...Because you'll need them sooner or later.

Oh, Btw... All O-ring heads (with the compression o-ring seal) have a somewhat short life span (before messing with them). The longest lasting type is the old original outboard motor kind , like on the stock Yamaha 650-701 (metal/fiber). Some guys like to buy the aftermarket heads because they look cool. But really don't need them. In the Xscream/ADA/Dasa/& aftermarket case, deal with the O-Rings, & know the signs when they start to go south.

thanks guys. After more examination it turns out the issue is much worse. The wrist pin bearing tore apart and destroyed the whole back cylinder. It also wore the connecting rod. Looks like this winters project will be a full rebuild. Has anyone ever done the bottom end? I’m wondering if I should send it out or do it myself.
