all you need is the UMI steering mount and bearings.......... definately worth it.

It looks to me as though the mount and bearings cost around 130 and a bunch of places sell the kit.

Does the kit that is sold at Blowsion and a few other places come with the UMI Bearings that supposedly are junk or do they come with the better bearings like JSS sells.

Get the teflon washers from JSS.

Getting into a UMI system AND XMW at the same time isn't cheap - you're looking at almost 250 bucks.

Is there any way to just get the UMI mount so you can order the good bearings and tuff thrust washer from JSS? I don't see the point in buying an entire Steering system kit when you need to get the other stuff from JSS.

The bearing that comes with it (the big one) is identical to the rebuild kits. The tuff thrust washers replace the flat needle bearings (?)
If you do the math, you pay UMI 110 bucks for the stem, four machine screws, and the sheetmetal bottom plate.
UMI systems are hard to come by used. I got mine for 50 bucks. :Banane01:
