haha! I still gotta shorten my pole, hope to do it this coming weekend.. What size nuts and bolts did you use to put it back together?

1/4" diameter stainless, 1/2" long. They don't have to be very long to
go through the bracket and fiberglass. You will have to drill out
the holes the rivets used to be in just EVER so slightly with a 1/4" bit to get the
bolts to fit.

you can also just rivet them and glue also.

true, I"d have to buy a rivet gun. What size rivets are they?
