um.... probably a diff bracket is ok, I don't know about a spring.

I've got an x-metal bracket with my 24-7 conversion hood which I'm sure they intended/designed to be used with a 24/7 bracket. I think they are interchangable.

if you are going xmetal pole why use a spring? a tight pole is the way to go!

It takes some getting use to......I have came to love mine. Why couldnt you just use the stock bolt with spring? The spring will need to be very good, because that pole weighs about 4lbs more then stock.

wax, before i had a tight xmetal pole setup on my SJ, i rode some other skis with them and didnt like em either. it takes some getting used to, but once youve become accustomed to it, a springed pole just seems so floppy and useless.

yeah i am sure i could get used to it
but i am a racer as well
i will make both skis handle close to the same
so i am getting practice on my free ride ski at the same time
if that makes sense

The tight pole takes some getting used to - but now I cannot stand to ride anything else.

he said he'd be gone for a week when i spoke to him on monday.. he's out riding somewhere, dont really remember where he said... he's still on cloud 9 from nats/wf's
I thought I saw him pulling out of his normal ride spot on tuesday. I must have been mistaken.

I'm sure you can run pats pole with other brackets. With bushings, it has the same dimension width wise as an oem pole. I run a spring also, but it's tough to run one with the dual breather setup pat runs. To get away from that, just cut the web away from inbetween the dual breather holes.

you can have the tension set where the pole floats with you but still has some resistance.......... I would not recommend using the Pole without the bracket, the bracket has limiting tabs on it designed for the the pole.... Superramjet tried a xmetal pole on a waterdawg bracket and it snapped the pole...... Why take the chance, the bracket is $100.00 less when you buy it as a kit.
