ahh love the smegma. I know you changed your timing a good bit,you are getting a rich condition somewhere in the curve where all the fuel cant be burnt fast enough,ive had this happen with my skis with high timing and big carbs,little retuning will help,stand the ski up on its end at angle so the waterbox will drain out the exhaust side,and youll see how much more is really in there. Notice any less ride time on a tank since the timing change?
