i just got finished putting together a little ol' Harbor Freight trailer and put some bunkers on it. little things awesome and it was cheap. but driving around it makes me real nervous...

what are the chances of it ever just flipping side ways? its got the weight of a waterlogged SJ holding in down, but even the slightest of bumps scare the sh*t out of me. and the noise of the hitch flopping around doesn't make it any better

I know Phill towed that very trailer, with a waterlogged Superjet on top, for over 5000 miles without a problem.

I have that same trailer I never had any probs with 1 or 2 skis on it. When its empty it slides pretty easily. I have put plenty of miles on it with no probs other then the tires going flat easily.

try to pick up one side or the other with your ski(s) on it. thats how much force it would take to flip it. it might flip in an accident, but i cant see it happening with even stupid aggressive driving offroad.

I flipped mine on its side once carring a 750 hull driving too fast, lost, on a winding road. Hit a bump it jerked one way and I was turning the other and the thing highsided. I actually didnt have a pin on the coupler and I bet that saved me because otherwise im sure it would have broke and id be stranded. It popped off skidded sideways didnt ever flip completely but put a big scratch on the rim, fender, and bondline of the 750 that was a trash hull anyways. I also have a small but high 2 place stand up trailer so the odds were agains me there. It would never happen with two skis and id never drive like that either.

This is an example of what will happen with a PWC size trailer in an accident. The accident was not my fault. The initial impact was around 45-50 MPH, that XPL on the trailer had no problem whipping my X-terra into a fishtail. The trailer never flipped, but every tie down on the XP snapped, and allowed the couch to be thrown off of the trailer. Don't worry about the trailer flipping

can i not worry about little pot holes? not that im aiming for them, but you some times you can't avoid them on the road.

shonuff, the noice is mainly from the hitch bar that goes into the reciever bolted to my truck frame. theres some play around it.

You are goint to flip your truck before you flip a trailer like that. I've seen trucks jack knife with a large boat and trailer, and the weight of the boat usually pulls the boat off the trailer before the trailer flips. In addition the hitch won't let the trailer rotate that high to flip over.

Keep those berrings greased! I believe Mile Serlin had the same trailer and burnt up the berrings.

I learned that lesson a few weeks ago in Jersey .Tire almost fell off and bearings fell out when we popped the wheel off.

Grease before and after every long trip and after every dunk in salt water and bearings last a long time .
