So i just swaped my superjet from a 650 to 701. I put all the parts from the 650 on the 701. I cleaned up everything inside the ski : ebox, hull motor, etc. I put everything together and in hull. I wanted to make sure that it would turn over. It doesnt have a carb on it. Battery was charged. So i went to push start, nothing happen. Open ebox to check starter, realized that it was locked up. I had a extra starter that was very good so i installed that. tried it again and once again nothing. open ebox again and realized it had some wires that disconnected. I fixed that. still nothing. I figured maybe its the switch. I traced all the lines no cuts or disconnects. I also checked with my meter to make sure its getting juice. It had 12v everywhere i checked. i then double checked all my grounds. they're good.

So im not sure what to do next. What to check? Where to look? I got a diagram from msd, and made sure all wiring looked good. I tried a lawnmower solenoid and still nothing. I can turn it over by jumping through the starter but nothing from the switch. Not even any clicking.

I need some serious help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unplug the start switch from the ebox (white connector with brown wire & red wire)
Short the two contacts inside the connector (ebox side) with a pair of needle nose pliers or hair pin or something.
If it turns over, your switch has a problem.
If it doesn't, something else is up.
Verify that the engine block is grounded.
Jump the two big posts on the relay. Does it turn over?
If it does, the relay may be faulty.

If it does not turn over doing that, your relay is faulty. (Because you have eliminated the switch by unplugging it)

So im bringing this up again. I think i know the answer but want to see what you guys think. I tried starting it , and nothing. I noticed a burnt fuse in ebox from start switch. tried another fuse and it popped again. i tried the needle nose trick , by unplugging the start switch and sticking a needle nose pliers to the two prongs and nothing. So im guessing a bad relay right?

you need to ohm out the wires from your s/s to ground. figure out which one is shorting to ground and blowing the fuse when you hit start. the fuse actually does feed the starter solenoid so something between your switch and the stater solenoid is shorted.

you can also test your starter solenoid by putting the + and - to the battery + and -. it should click.
