why the B pipe over the other factory pipes?

The one pictured is the type 9,

All pipes (due to their design) generate power in a different place,
some low end like the b pipe,
some give alot of mid like the mod pipe and some give good top end, like the dry pipes inc type 9.

Us freeriders/freestylers want good bottom and strong mid power so the b pipe is our choice because its gives us the power where we want it. Some of us that have big bore ported motors run the mod pipe or and even shorter mod pipe like mine.

Another reason we choose the pipe is its fantastic reliability, the b pipes are light and low down in the ski, they dont put strain on the cylinder and i dont think ive ever heard of one blowing a coupler.

Theyre a wet pipe so theres no water jacket to crack.

Basically theres nothing else out there that is currently available that does the job better

the type 9 makes great mid to top
but it lacks the throttle response of the wet pipe

they type 9 is actually very reliable

its the one for racing but just not so good in the surf
But when i put big compression in my ski the type 9 had great low end
