Decided not to cut the boat shorter, but cut a nice D in a stock plate. Got it out today for a test at the lake, WOW, it really helps get the nose up with full trim, And shreds like a mother######. I cant wait to get to Westport next weekend, even one of the Blaster guy's wants to take a crack at the X2, good call Pete.

Pete is the master, no doubt. I just like making changes one by one to evaluate each one. With the cut plate, it damm near threw me off, but I really like it. It really brings the nose up with full tilt, I just need to finish and install my 750 motor. Picture of my stock 86, surf 88, and a 90 I just picked up.

My x2 is abut ready for paint. Was thinking about tubbies. Are they worth the money. And what difference to the handling do they make?
Not got the skills to cut the back. :banghead:

Tubbies are a MUST for the X2 hull. It makes it a much more forgiving ride. I use the agressive Tubbie II's. They help it steer out of off balence situations like it has a front wheel turned in the direction you are leaning rather than the opposite a stock X2 has.

That combined with the shorter rear get the nose up and make it steer way quicker than it ever did.

Cutting the back can be done in 5 minutes with a sawzall. It is rediculously easy. Just leave about a quarter inch of the lip so it stays bonded together and sand it smooth. Taking the square corner is a MAJOR improvement in safety as well. You can side mount an X2 so much easier witht he tail beveled to match the flat 45 degree angle of the floorboard.
