I highly recomend the MSD plug caps.

2nd, gap you spark plugs to 18 thou (.018). This will allow your ski to rev out in salt water.

when you cut the wires, get some needle nose pliers and gently tug on the wires, if any come loose, continue cutting back until you cannot pull any broken strands. Many cases if you just cut and reinstall the boots, you will still have broken wires.
You can go to NAPA and by the same wire and do the JSS mod your self without the fancy black braided sleeves. You can also buy plug boots and the crimp ends that work really well also.

I pulled the boot off and turns out only a couple of the wires were still there. I cut back about a half inch and pulled on them with the needlenoses to make sure they were snug. I then fished the wire through the boot.

Here's where I am now.

How should I go about attaching the coil to the plug wire. There is a rectangular shaped bend at the end of the coil that I'm thinking I should hook through like I was hooking a plastic fishing worm texas rigged (if anyone knows what that means.)

Then everytime I try to pull the coil back through it either breaks through the rubber or dosen't sit even.

These are the stock plug boots. I might just get some MSD boots tomorrow

Any ideas

Thanks,

Kevin

I went with MSD boots and MSD crimp style plug caps. You don't need to use the wicked expensive MSD style crimp tool, I picked up a cheapy automotive one at NAPA that worked fine. I also soldered it. Probably not necessary but I figured I spend the extra 30 seconds for good measure.

If I get the new boots do I need a different coil or ?????

If I don't how does the old coil hook up to the spark plug wire?

Sorry guys, I've never been too good with electrical stuff

You'll cut back the wires until you get good strands, crimp on the connector, solder if you want to (some folks do, some don't),slap some dielectric grease on the connector inside and out and push it into the MSD boot. So, yeah, you can ditch the OEM boots in their entirety.
