Yesterday one of our local dealerships gave me a call and offered me a ride on the Hydrospace while they took some pics for a new Australian magazine. The wind was up (along with the chop) and there was also alot of boat traffic. The ski hooked up beautifuly in the small chop. There was no cavitation at all. Full throttle turns into a boat wake at any angle were easy. It was certainly different but felt pretty good. In big chop or choppy surf I think the turbo lag would make the ski painful to ride. After about 20 mins of turns the ski lost power and stopped. Turned out to be a battery cable.
Today the water was flat and the ski felt totally different. It was all over the place in a straight line and didn't want to bank at all through turns. It bit hard on me through one turn and spat me. I held the bars to the end, twisted up side down, hurt my shoulder and neck and twisted the top end of the pole. In less than an hour we broke the thing twice.
Are these things unrealible or did we just have some bad luck? I have to admit I expected a little more from a ski worth $20,000 AUS.
