I'm in. I heard that the southern Volusia county zone is right next to Ponce Inlet. I think most people are going there. Is that an option?

I'm down brotha.. got the ski going strong again, tubbies are on (lovin them things) I rode w/ Pat, Jason, Pete last weekend at the lake and I tell you what... those tubbies are sooooo sweet on flat, can't wait to rip it in the surf w/ them....

We have a few options for riding... I think our best option is the New Smyrna break... I will post some info on the location. It's w/i a 1/2 mile of the Inlet (south) and generally is a good break... If it's low tide mid day we can head over to "shark shallows" and hit the outside break too... We'll find a wave there for sure..

as for where we ride you make the call.my only thoughts are that i would rather not launch from the boat ramp but if thats where the waves are then im fine with it too

yeah, if the current forecast holds, should be some groundswell left with little to no winds friday and saturday. :afro: :afro:

robert let me know how smyrna will work with the tides. (unfortunately high is mid day i think). and if they're gonna open the zone on friday.

looks like high tide is at 10:00am:frown: but the wind is going to clock around to wsw 5-7mph and the duration is gong to be about 12 sec:arms: it should be pretty good:biggrin:

What they have been doing is; if you're on the beach they haven't been kicking you off at high tide. They just don't let anyone on for a couple hours around high tide. The zone is North of the Beachway approach. There is plenty of hard sand up there. High tide will be late morning. All afternoon should be great in Smyrna. I will drive down and make sure Thursday or Friday. Also, Danny (94 Blaster)is a beachside firefighter. I'll see if he has any pull with beach patrol. But nothing should be a problem.
Scott, How was it this weekend? I heard it was closed in Ormond so I hit the inlet late Sunday.
Friday the zone will not be open in Smyrna. Only Daytona zones are open during the week.
I'm up for a late inlet ride any day this week. Give me a call we can go from inlet shores.

i was hoping good friday would count as a holiday since they say "weekends and holidays".

You maybe right about the holiday on Friday. I have been out on Mondays when there have been holidays. Do you have off?
I checked the beach this evening. With the wind and high tide there was no way they would let anyone on the beach because the water was all the way up the beach ramp. I'll check later in the week and talk to beach patrol.

no, no ,no... it's just the beachbreak BY the inlet...South side of the rocks... Trust me, You will dig it bro!!!!!! A very sweet spot to ride!!!!!

Same pass as the one in Daytona. It is a Volusia County pass that we purchase. This is just the South section (New Smyrna) North section is Daytona and Ormond.

I can handle some overnighter overflow if Nick runs out of room.
