I started a thread in the SoCal section on pwct.
I'd like to keep the thread over there, but wanted to post it here incase some of you all don't go to the other site any longer.
Here is the start of the thread, but again, if possible lets keep the thread on the other site to keep the comments organized.
My buddy and I were thinking the other day about doing a day camp type deal at the oil peirs. We did this about two months ago. We have stand ups so we used beach carts/dollies to get our skis down the rocks/path and lanched there, but the sits downs can easily launch out of Ventura Harbor and meet us there.
I can bring my motor home, park it at the nearest spot towards the water, crank up the music, I can bring two BBQ's, and just eat, ride, and take some pics and video. Cool thing about oil piers is that there is a high ledge about water level that is perfect for taking pictures and video.
If we set it up well enough, we can all pitch in for the food. People launching out of the harbor can have someone drive to the oil peirs to have more gas if you need it.
I'll hopefully have my own beach dolly by then. With 4-5 guys you can get up and down the path w/o a quad, but if someone has one it would be much more helpful.
You Oside guys should definatly come up, I've been wanting to ride with you guys for a while.
For all of you who do not know where oil piers is, it is about 10 miles north of Ventura harbor, just before that island that has a pier/bride going out to it. Easiest way to get there is to exit Sea Cliff exit off the 101.
I know I am probably leaving out some info, but we'll all fill that in later.
Lets organize this, it would be awsome way to get the SoCal riders together.
