What are you going to do with the ski ? Flat Water / Surf ?
I only surf ride now.
But on some days now I really struggle out in the surf on the FX-1's. On most days I just ride one of my Blasters. But I don't want to dump a bunch of money in a round nose just to ride it once in a while.
So, I've got a decent SN hull I can put together, and a couple good motors and some really decent SN mod parts that I've been saving...but nowadays I ride quite a bit by myself, and I've already had the pleasure of destroying a brand new Superjet out in the surf the very first day out (due to water in the engine compartment...total loss, ski broken clear in half on the break wall rocks), which makes me think this hood mod is a pretty important mod for me to do at this point.

That's the one I was thinking of. The only person I know of that has one is Robert (screen name Submarine) from Arizona. He doesn't come around much anymore.

Here's my build from a few years ago including my version of the slutty hood mod. I thought it turned out pretty good and it wasn't that hard at all.

The only thing I regret was the placement of the breather hoses, I placed them with regard to clearing the engine and being at a high point during subs and regular riding and not to prevent Water intrusion when inverted. I have detailed pics archived somewhere if you are interested.

seats this is my hood on my sn. i have ben using this hood for about 8 or so years this way. it works pretty good keeps most of the water out. i do have a pump and a versa plug in my boat also. the 2 hoses in the front are from a raider mounts and all. the back 2 are shopvac hoses. the topside of the hood is stock. i cut little half moons in the rear of the hood to let the water out.

I like the "modded" Kawasaki tool kit.
Do you normally run the pump when riding anyways?

watercraft factory has the surfjetlouie a/m hood kits/nosepieces for the square. might wanna call him. itll be pricier than modding a stock hood, but looks WAY nicer.
