Just called Steve at Watercraft Factory. He answered on the first call, gave me the cliff notes on Hoods 101, and is working on it this week! If his product is half as good as his reputation and service seem to be then I'm going to be very satisfied! :woot:

Yeah, i think you did the right thing by going with WF. If I didnt get such a good deal on a hood, pole/bracket, and nose piece from Slymo, I was gonna try Steve for sure. I will if this Wamiltons eventually trashes on me.

BTW - I thought it was Puddle Puppy Customz:wink:

Damn...your ski rocks, it's one of my favorite skis for looks, inside and out.
And I think that the JK hood is one of the greatest looking ones out there. And it being Blowsion, it oughta be bulletproof.

I've received a couple pm's about this hood and I figure it's best to answer them here. Unfortunately I don't have any other hoods other than stock to compare it too. Fortunately I don't think I'll be needing another hood to compare it too :cool2:

I've got this other pic but I can take any more that you'd like just let me know what angles you are looking for. Pics of yamasluts ski are all over the place - he's got the same setup. And more pics on the website: http://www.watercraftfactory.com/html/hoodkit.html

Steve was patient with my questions, polite, and most importantly responsive! He can make the hoods light, average, heavy, etc. I got mine built on the heavy side (16lb or so?) to survive the surf.

I won't have it pancakin' for another month or so but the quality appears to be top notch. From the hand holds, to the liner, to the lip, this hood is beautiful.

The nose cowling is sweet too. Make sure you discuss your pole mount and hood hooks with him. They affect the fit.

Happy spending, :Banane09:

Ah I've got a question too. I think Steve mentioned the holes for my hood hooks might need to be redrilled? I am installing the xmw mount and xmw hooks but everything seems to line up fine other than the breather tube holes. Am I missing something?

Second question, how is everyone securing the front tip of the cowling? Run a pan head allen/phillips bolt through it?
