Which head is better? Which is the best Riva, R&D, ADA, Protec? Superjet gurus give me your knowledge? I have a 2000 superjet with a Factory b-pipe and flame arrestors, that is it for motor mods. I want to run pump gas.

most people run ada. they have less orings then the rivas.

but some say the riva has the proper cooling configuration for maximum cooling.

go with either or. i went riva cause i got a good deal.

compression is compression. just get a girdled head

Don't waste you hard earned $$! Just get the ADA! I never have failures with them and the cooling is a preference that doesn't weigh much. The one thing is the domes will never crack and is very stroker friendly for later on...just machine a new custom set, or use kaw flattop domes in the yamaha head shell...so with this in mind hands down on the choice! go with the ada if you get the riva and you ever tkae it apart you have ten pain in the but orings to get to stay where they are supposed to be . but if you can get the girdle bolt kit riva and the ada head . because the riva kit allows you to bolt the cylinder down and then the head so the cylinder stays still if you remove the head to inspect or change orings . which keeps your base gasket sealed . where the ada does not but for sure go with ada regardless.

Yeah, Riva and Protec cost more money...

ADA Complete: $345

Protec:
C2 head shell - 701/760 $390
C2 Full girdle update kit - 701/760* $240

Riva:
Head Cap, Non-Girdled, 2cyl, 3 Exhaust Mounts $130
Girdled Head Body Kit, 2 Cyl. (81-85.5MM Bore) $240
Domes $39.95 ea
TOTAL: $370 + $80.00 domes = $450.00

good point.

Wax had a good piece of info on how the cooling is routed for both heads, and that ADA is a 1 piece whereas RIVA is a 2 piece. They both essentially will give you the same performance, but it is by my understanding that the Riva gives you better cooling, less chance of hot spots on your cylinder.

I have that protec head. I think the domes are a little diff then the ada heads. Also having to put silicon on the head when you take it off is a pita. I have it because it was $40 on ebay.

i prefer the riva i have never had an issue with leaking of orings or broken domes
i think both the riva and the ada are a good thing
i prefer the cooling on the riva
i also prefer the way the water comes out the very end i think it looks better than coming out the top

I have an ADA and love it for it's performance and looks .I try not to buy anything from Riva if I can help it because of their lousy customer service .

ADA customer service is great ,they sent me two -90 degree fittings priority mail when I requested those instead of straight fittings .
