When a battery blows up at night!!!!!

My guess is since he just sold it and/or just rebuilt the engine, he put the battery back in it and hooked it up backwards. It would probably spark real bad at first but then the wires will just start heating up until they catch fire and burn up. That or the positive wire was somehow grounded and the current was just flowing in one side of the battery and out the other continuously. It would take a little longer for the battery to heat up but it will eventually blow that way.
