Scratch it up with 36 grit, bottom of pump , and where your gluing it. I used fiberglass resin with filler(westSystems 404 filler I think). I don't think that base piece will ever come offf now.

I made a bracket. its sweet.

edit: I took a piece of aluminum and bent it with some heat, then drilled 2 slotted holes in it for the mounting spot. It mounts right to the intermediate housing thingy. I drilled and taped 4 holes, 2 on each side, of the bottom of the bracket. That way if they ever break, i can unscrew the brackets instead of having to drill out rivets or fight some epoxy.

If you ever need to remove epoxied bilge pumps, then a moderate whack with a hammer and chisel pops them right off. Right after you've done that, you'll go round and check every epoxy repair you've ever made, just in case...!

I've always used 5200 because I like that it stays flexible to dampen some of the shock from landings---that likes to break pump bracket tabs.

But, there a a dozen ways to do it, none is best, as long as it works.

5200 is the farthest thing from flexible. That stuff wont budge after it hardens.

screw it to the bottom of the hull. No worries and easy to get off. Like me.
