SXR Whats the best carb setup for freestyle

Im looking to get more into freestyle. I have a sxr 800 motor and was wondering which carbs will help produce the most low end power

Carbs do not create low end power. Port Timing, Static Timing, Pipe Tuning and Prop Tuning determine your low end power. I would focus on these items first before even thinking about carbs.

There is no such thing as "Which carbs would be best for freestyle".

Static Timing is where you set your timing at your stator. You can give it initial advance which can give you more hit off the bottom, but too much and you can toast a piston running WOT.

Given that you are on an SXR. I would look into installing a thinner base gasket and head gasket, maybe some good porting. Carbs would be the last thing I would look at. Also, Advance your timing. Do a search for ZFORCE Racing. Tim has a great package using the OEM Carbs. I rode one of his race boats years ago and it was not much less than his full superstock and this one had stock carbs on it.

I've got nothing but the best experience with Blackjack carbs on a couple different engines now. I've tried OEM mikunis, retail mikunis, Full Spectrums, and Riva Powerbomb.
The BJ's perform excellently, lots of crisp power everywhere with no flat spots. Also very easy to tune and probably the cheapest performance carb out there.
(that said, idiot someone already has an appropriately sized set of well tuned carbs, then there is probably little to be gained by going to a different brand)

One more than the other
Generally speaking, duals will make better power at the expense of slightly higher fuel consumption.

I JUST talked to Art at Blackjack about this very topic for my 820 SXR engine he's building for me. I also run girdled Kommander head, FP wet pipe, Advent and will be installing RAD aluminum flywheel

I asked specifically about Blackjack 44s and 46s. He said the 46s would be too big and the 44s would not offer the snap I was looking for.

He suggested this SXR stock 40mm I body carb modification which is to taper bore the carb and install a thin tube atomizer which increases flow. He says the 40s with his mods provide so much snap people ride his ski (with almost the same setup I have) and are blown away he is running the 40s with his mod.

The best part is that he said that mod is $188 per carb compared to $210 per carb to have Blackjacked plus the cost to buy the carbs you want.

Call him and talk to him about it. He will not steer you in the wrong direction. Art Gomez 949-331-8279

Ok that's some good info. I should probably give him a call. I got a 800sxr which im having bored to 82.5 (to clean it up, has some groves in the cylinder) with tbm gridled head, and about to pick up a factory wet pipe. Just trying to figure out the right carb to back it all up.

BJ's are good because they are BJ's, you should see how my old 550sx performed with a 48mm..(crazy top end power) now the same carb is on my 730cc XFS - still amazing... so once you but them - don't switch them :)

I should also say that I have some Blackjacked SXR carbs and he doesn't do that mod on them anymore. He says he gets more out of the thin tube atomizer and it's easier to tune.

Coming from a guy that can make more money by selling me some Blackjack 44s, I'd say he must be very convinced that his thin tube SXR carbs are the ticket.
