I am going to ride more in the ocean than anything so i am wondering what is better to go with footholds or foot straps?
what if i want to try barrel roles?
originally i was just going to cut my own foot holds and just reglass the whole tray. After that i think i will add a front food strap because that way i could still ride with a good surf stance does that sound like it will work?
there is no reason to use footholds in the surf ...dont even waste your time and money installing them...if you plan on doing flatwater freestyle then put them in but put two straps in as well for when you ride the surf..whats the point of using one just in the rear??..so you have less control and your balance is thrown off because your foot isnt in the middle of the ski??...two straps is the way to go..no question about it..if you ride with your feet in one place on the ski it always handles the same..if your moving your feet around all the time your ski rides differently depending on where your standing..and the myth that they are hard to get out of is not true...when you do need to place your feet in a different location to save yourself from a fall you can easily move them in and out of the straps..just look at the difference in style and how hard they are hitting the lip between people using straps or a rear foothold..that should answer your question

I think it's personal preference but it doesn't hurt to ask...
why do you have your front strap pointing forward? mine is installed like that and never use it because I prefer my front foot to point to the side.
one of these days I'll move the front strap.

But ever see a double Barrel in straps.. Just wondering.
I dont know if it could be done in straps? I could be wrong here.
some of the westies go HUGE in straps ! :cheer:
this guy thats asking the question is just coming from a 650sx so i dont think he has to be worrying about double br's anythims soon...and for me id rather not do a trick than do it with footholds
If you ride with your feet facing the nose of the ski why change? Like left foot very close to the rear and right foot forward slightly. This can be a huge advantage if you need to hip drag either way to collect yourself when riding in the surf.If your strapped in can you drag your knees to collect yourself?I dont have straps or foot holds so disregard everything i've typed.I am going to ride more in the ocean than anything so i am wondering what is better to go with footholds or foot straps?
