OEM just means original equipment.

If you get new grips, you cut off the OEM ones.

If you get a new impeller, you'll need to take off the OEM first.

Already running a full face helmet and aftermarket knee brace.

Full face helmets are good for the teeth but a handlebar can still get in and mess up your face pretty bad. Hockey or lacrosse helmets are the way to go.
