SXR What's a good price on a new SXR?

Do you mean brand new (like a 2010/11) or do you mean a newer used model? My 07 was in perfect condition and it was $4000, which is a fair price.

Well, MSRP on a new 2011 is $7899. I think anywhere in the $6K range sounds good. Can't believe MSRP has went up $2400 since 03.
On the used market anywhere from $2500-5k depending on year, condition, & mods

Prices here are brutal, definitely worth a trip across the border and paying 13% to save a bundle.

There is a lightly used , heavily modded one in FL for sale but not yet posted up here, it has all the goods. PM GUMP if you want to save alot and buy one with everything done from rrp pole to pip and carbs and head and props, and all the other stuff as well.
Prolly like $5k will get it. Its been sitting in the shop forever un ridden for years.

I went to the dealer and asked them if they wanted to talk price on the 2011 SXR.
the guy said:

"whatever it says on the tag"

it was just shy of 8 grand.

no way I'm paying that.

Especially since sxr resale prices have been so low the last few years. 2 seasons ago I sold my 06 for $3k and it had less than 20 hours on it.

for 2011 i was must have called 20 dealers on sat i got prices anywhere from 6100 to 9400 for a 2011 sxr from east coast to west. and im in ny best deal i found was in nj and im not gonna pay sales tax or registration fees

Don't do the mistake I did and buy new. Find a good used one with all the mods you want installed. It will save you thousands!!

yea thatsa good idea buying used but if you buy new you know whats going on with the machine and how it was taken care of it. i bought a new 09 for 7k in a way i regret it cuz it was os much but in a way i dont because i know i have taken care of my sxr. my bro got a used 08 for half of what i got mine he saved alot of money for that is a year older then mine.

I bought mine new on 04 for about $5500.00 I raced it and rode the piss out of it until I sold it in 2009-2010. Never once had any issues with it. Well worth buying new.
