SX/SXi/SXi Pro what would cause this...

went out yesterday to ride and after about 3 hours of riding i was sitting out. Was out on the water and fell off and the kill switch killed the motor. went to start it back and the battery sounded weak and didnt turn the motor over hard. got it to shore and called it a day. got home from work today and the battery tested 10.3 and still made the weak sound when i tried to start it.... BUT the head looks like the following pic now. what would cause the head to dis-color like this.

the green paint was already flaking off when i bought the ski...

you can try charging the battery, but most likely it needs to be replaced
how old is the battery?
did you just buy the ski?
looks like someone just put cheap spray paint on the head
and it melted and came off

got the battery less than one ride ago. new in box
ski i got almost in 4 parts and i just put it all back together and this i the first season riding it.
i charged the battery and the ski started right up. but why the dead battery? bad stator or something else? i didnt even have my bilge pump on cause i was just touring the lake riding and thought i would be cool and hit a big wake and it trashed me and killed the ski. after than no start.

did some research and some tinker time on the ski and compression tested again and i am running 30 psi in front and 120 in the back cylinder. when before my last ride i checked it and i was getting low 140s.

what could cause this and how would i go about fixing it? i know i need a top end now but what caused this motor to go? clogged up somewhere? i was getting water out my pisser.

My guess is you got the engine and pipe from one person and he decided it would be a good idea to paint it with some regular green paint instead of high temp paint. It doesn't look like the normal teal paint that comes on kawi engines. You may have just blown your head gasket which would cause the engine to heat up more than normal causing the paint to peel. The guy may have also just sprayed engine engine paint onto an oily surface. The head gasket blown would give you low compression numbers. Regardless you need to charge your battery up and see what's going on. You can't take accurate compression numbers on a weak battery.

You can try to find a 750 owners manual and test the stator wires to see if the resistance is good between them.

update-

had battery tested and charged. got home and checked compression again and im showing around 95 in front and 110 in back. Any advice? should i get a head gasket and see if that works or find someone to do a top end?

Well first things first. Pull the head off and see if you can see anything wierd. 15 minutes of work may tell you a lot about what is going on in there. A wide band of black carbon between the cylinder and water jacket would indicate a blown gasket. When you've got the head off, you'll also be able to see the pistons and sleeves to see if they are gouged real bad or have anything else going on. You can do the top end yourself with basic tools and some reading but if the sleeves are worn, you'd have to get the cylinder bored. It's not difficult at all though.

okay. i took the head off and the pistons were jet black on top. the head gasket wouldnt lay flat and was a little worn looking. turnned the coupler and the pistons went up and down smoothly with no huge cracks or damage seen by me. i will get some pics and post for the more knowledgeable eyes to view.
