what to look for ,for tuning a carb

i have a BN 44 on my 650 sx and last weekend i took it out right after i rebuilt it. it ran bad. So i started to turn the high and low needle out i finally got it to run ok but still needs more. You can tell the top end is not right. well i wanted to ask you guys, what are you looking for when tuning the carb? what to look for for the low and high?

thanks luis

I'll read it , one thing i forgot to mention is that i'm past two turns out on the top does that mean i need a step up jet? and if so how much up do i go? what increments do jets rise in size?

thanks

Jets rise in 2.5 increments.
If you're two turns out and need to go richer still, go 5.0 up in jetsize and start the adjuster at 0.5 turns out.

along with the high jet do i need to increase the low jet cuse thats getting close to two turns out. i read the link and will take out the ski and apply abit of what i read, but seems that i will have to change the jet since i'm for sure that it's two turns out and asking for more.

thanks

luis, do you have a BN or a SBN? square fuel pump or round?

If it's a BN, then the tuning manual doesn't apply.
