Not to actually comment on the thread but.................if they are "REAL" friends, they should understand. If they were to get pissed over something as trivial as a "few bucks" then f@ck em, they never had your back in the first place....................IMHO :biggrin:

My take is this.
friends over money always.
Some freinds wont like it when YOU make money, ive seen this first hand ( I made $20 once), those freinds suck, and you should move them to the OUTER circle.
do what you need, get what you need to get, freinds, will help you do these things, and be proud of you, and NOT rag you or stand in your way while you do what it takes.
My take is this.

if they have been friends through thick and thin, i say keep the friends and bring them along for the ride. if they have been with you this long they are gonna be there for the foreseeable future, if you succeed, they are there to support when you succeed and if you fail they are there to support you when you fail.
i say fock the people who leveraged you against those who have stuck with you for the long haul. those are the people you need to get rid of as friends, especially if they leveraged you against your other friends just for their own personal gain

Dan, Dan, Dan....where to begin....up until the infamous Daytona saga---I really thought of you as a nice guy....I remember meeting you at StuntWars 2005, we shared alot of laughs---remember the rainbow ham, bailing Sabrina out of jail, flicking the bean...????
Here's the problem, I told you repeatedly over the weekend in Daytona that we did not pour pee down the beer bong...I remember you asking me THREE different times on Sunday alone if that had happened...all three times I told you no. I come home, and you bring that back up on the internet...if you really were such a friend....why not believe me when I told you???? You know me, as well as many people on this message board---I'm not a bull shytter...I'm honest almost to a flaw....I'll tell you what I think or feel. I swear, when I turned 30, something clicked and I decided I would never take crap from anyone again....All I ask is that you return the favor and trust in me!!! I know I can be a bitch sometimes--usually that's just reserved for Chris--but every now and again someone else falls into the line of fire....but mean-spirited I am not. The band-wagon of haters really discouraged me from ever wanting to post another damn thing on here...I pulled my pics, cause honestly, why should I bust my ass to post pics for people on here to enjoy that are gonna turn on me at the first glimpse of an internet rumor?????
Those of you that know me...know I am not that kind of person.
Anyway, my point in all of this was--I just wish you could have used this same logic when you decided to judge me....:disappointed:

here is the problem- leverage implies you have little choice in my mind. there are few things that could come between me and a lifelong friend who has been there through thick and thin. how can someone leverage against that? its nuts. doesn't sound like leverage at all. sounds like guilt. and that shiet don't work on me either. I try my damdest to never be manipulated, sure I am hardly ever in control of things by I don't get swerved very often.
wish I knew what the hell you where talking about, its like target practice in the dark. my good friends don't try and run my life, if they did they wouldn't be a friend would they?

to explain the leverage deal........... ill use and example...... u and a buddy do the same thing for a living...... your both approached to do a job for free...... that doesnt help either one of u........ but the kicker is u have worked indirectly for this requester b4.......... your buddy has not...... so technically it is your customer.......... the customer is just trying to get a freebie by leveraging u against one another with a promise of more work if u do this freebie....... your buddy decides behind your back to take on the freebie ........ in an attempt to gain future work........ ********ing you out of a customer and a sale (if they had stood tall together it would have forced the customer to pay you what was due to you for the work)........ and all the while this buddy thinks its ok........

Either your friend isn't much of a friend or he's stupid or just oblivious to the real world. I think that in many cases people aren't trying to intentionally be asses, but since they don't really "get it" then they don't know that what they are doing is wrong. Maybe you need to do some poking around and see if this guy even thought of the consequences of his actions. He may just be an idiot.
Dump 'em both, neither one is really your friend. The customer that wants stuff for free certainly isn't your friend, he's a jackazz out to scr*w you. The "friend" isn't, he appears to be out to scr*w you, too. You're better off without either one in your life. Find some real friends that will stand by YOU when YOU are down and hang on to them!
