Walmiltons site shows the mil spec switch. These hold up forever- I'm still using some that are 25 years old. The cable is vulcanized to the main body. Regrettably, most everybody else sells a similar looking version, also made by CPI, - see the op's post #1- and then fraudulently claims it to be "mil-spec". That is simply a cheaper switch which has the cable glued at the body joint. It usually fails at that joint permitting water entry. It was never intended for submersion. Until about the turn of the century, Riva, Hot products and others were selling the mil spec (the genuine) version, then I suppose to be competitive, they started peddling the other version- it is much cheaper.I think OCD Solutions or Jetmaniac may sell these. I would check with them first.

It's been around for awhile- probably does. Took some pics of "water tight" switches. 1st pic: this switch readily available from mcmaster.com. 2nd pic: installation of " you gotta order 100 from CPI"- formerly available from Riva or Hot Products. 3rd pic: installation in kick panel (this switch has been recycled through 3 or 4 skis!). 4th pic: h/b switch mount bracket.Does the mil spec switch have an NSN?
