I hung my ski from the ceiling rope front and rear.

same here, except i used heavy duty ratcheting tie downs and used a thin cable on the sides to keep it stable. that allowed me to rotate it when i needed to.

The last pic with the stand under the ski... I put that under the ski, not touching, just in case my tie down let loose while hanging there to dry... didn't want to have it crash down on the concrete floor. All in all the set up worked well for me... the ski actually hung there for a week before i got time to take it down and put it together.

honestly, I found it just as easy to just leave the ski on a regular rolling stand, if you dont want to get overspray on the stand, drape it with plastic before setting the ski on.......... if you are painting the underside, turn it upside down and paint the bottom first, let dry, the flip..........

I thought about doing that, but i wanted to shoot it all at once and be done with it. I'm going to repaint the bottom next fall, so i will just flip it on the stand and not bother hanging it again.

I have an awesome rotisserie can hold anything from a 440 to couch. It has been used to paint a few people's ski from here. I will get some pics tonight with a ski under the knife locked in it. Also great for doing foam and reinforcing.

Thats how I'm doing mine. I figured if I hung it and shot overtop of it (shot the entire ski at once, primer for example) than I'd be asking for runs. Do the hull first, than the topdeck.

Its my first experience with a spray gun, so the slower I go, most likley the better.

I always hang them from the ceiling with straps. cheapest, fastest easiest way to do it. and you can do it by yourself! I do this when I need to reinforce the nose and under the handlepole mount too.

just take your time... don't spray too close or too heavy... and you will not have to worry about runs. i did my first paint job last year... came out nice.
