I want to put my registration numbers on my x-metal pole. It looks like it'll need to be a 2" font. Anyone getting away with numbers that small?

Tim, my numbers are on my x-metal pole. They are the cheap ace hardware whitr numbers and i trimed them down so as mark44 says my are also trimmed down to 2.5/2.75 inch the fl sticker is right by them and so far i have not been ticketed for them.. I don't think the cops can read them that good when they are on the curve of the pole but they can see there are on there and the fl sticker is right next to them. The graphics are the area where most people put there numbers on my ski. Yours is looking just one color so i wonder if they will give you a hard time being you ski is just just one color
Thanks for the info. I asked ollie to make them 2.5". I guess we'll see how it goes.
no one ever said how thick the letters have to be. I know guy who used a ball point pen to do his on a powered inflatable boat.
they are suppose to be block letters 3 inches and to be like 24 inches across with equal spacing here in florida
I didn't think we were allowed to run them on the pole either but the law doesn't specify.I'm surprised you can get away with putting them on the pole in the first place. Out here it has to be on the hull. They'll even bag ya if there on the hood, since it is removable.
The Florida registration number issued to a vessel is permanent
and remains with the vessel as long as it is operated or stored
in this state, even though ownership may change. The
registration number issued to an undocumented vessel is to
be painted or permanently attached to both sides of the bow
(forward half) of the vessel and must be in block letters and
numerals at least 3 inches high. The registration number
must read from left to right, must contrast in color with the
hull and be maintained in a legible condition. The prefix and
suffix must be separated from the numerals by a hyphen or
space equal to the width of the digits, i.e., FL 0001 AB

The pole is part of the forward half right?
