what should I wear

Next day it's above 50 degrees outside I am riding my SXR because i just got a handlepole on it. I'm gonna ride at a river near my house, what should I wear? I was thinking, I have two westsuits I could wear could prolly keep me insulated enough for a half hour.

what ever you wear, make sure your shoes match your PFD.

sflsurfrider...guess the sfl means south florida. LUCKY....never had to worry about doubling up on a wetsuit, huh. lol i will make sure my shoes match.

and your wetsuit needs to match your ski. these things are very very important. otherwise its just not even worth going out.

Dunno, wish I knew. I've been trying to find out what it is, but can't find anywhere. Where I am going to ride at, the river is not wide at all maybe 100-150ft across and it's around marshland so I would imagine it's not freezing cold.

Where do you live? (The Ville isn't very descriptive, Jacksonville, Louisville, etc)

You need to be able to handle being in the water long enough to swim to shore and then some IMO.

The ocean temp is in the 40's and with as cold as it has been around lately I would say that river is probably colder. Good luck! Better get some blue shoes to match your..... lips.

whtbread, you reall think the maurice river would be colder than the ocean. 42 degrees, OUCH. i should do a test dip in my bath tub to see if i can stand it.lol. When are you gonna start riden again? I'm gonna start consistently riden around april.

Last year we started on the 2nd, and rode in the bay it wasn't that bad as long as the air temp is pretty nice. I wear 5m boots 3m wetsuit, 3m hood 5m gloves.. I was fine.. Let me know if you wanna hook up, by then. I'm game brother both my skis will be finished...

I might go out from Beesley's Point. I heard that right next to that powerplant that the water is in the 60's even in the winter. Kinda makes me wonder if I ride near a powerplant, I might grow an extra finger or sumthin.
