Any filler will work, u just want to get that gooey consistency so its maleable and doesn't run all over
Here's the pre finished pictures, show dry run, adding wings to shoe, jet dynamics and worx grate pictures, inserted, waiting till JBWeld on hull to shoe area harden for final installation of grate and ride plate. You will notice a sizeable gap between grate and shoe. Doesn't seem as big as worx grate. Also I spoke with Glen from Jet Dynamics. He told me that the Jet Dynamic grate is suppose to hang down from the shoe. It was designed that way. He said don't grind it even with the shoe. You will lose performance. Final install Pics tommorrow.
No and yes, all superjet pump shoes are shorter as in picture. That said, they are the only aluminum shoes available.. I filled the gaps in the picture with marine putty and sanded. some just leave the gap alone. there are other reccomendations above.. The picture is kinda of blurry but you can still it. As far as i'm concerned The the oem doesn't bold up with serious intake grates like jet dynamics, so this is the only stronger alternative that didn't require grinding to fit.. The jet dynamics version is a superjet one also. It has a history on the forums of being hit or miss and alot have reported storied of hjaving to grind the bottom to make it flush with the hull. I think if I recall right the you might have to drill the hole too. The worx version had none of the B.S. it slid right in to OEM spot. I didn't have to grind anything or drill holes or change holes.. I hope that answers your question so you know what you are getting into..
