Who has used these? good power? 40$ difference between them and the pro tech one is complete. coffmans i need to get a few parts. Whats the better Deal? better power? Personal advice/ experiences?

Dirk Diggler eh?

I've been debating this same thing. I'm not a fan of double spending so i'm thinking of just holding out for a SJ Factory Limited pipe.

I'm intrested in what others have to say.

PM hardcore and ask him about using/extending the stock 650sx pipe... its a he// of a cheater pipe to my understanding!! You just need a factory manifold i believe?!?!?

factory or coffman ya, cut the weld on the stinger and weld it to anouther 650sx / x2 stinger and do the drying out mod on it

My cheater pipe (650sx pipe) dried out right hit harder than my coffman sizzler pipe that had a 4mm restrictor installed in the stinger line. Cheater pipes are the only way to go for someone on a budget. My cheater was the stock lenth too, not extended like some do which would give you more low end. I had a little over $100 in my cheater setup. I dried the cheater out just like hardcore did, filled and drilled the coolant passage in the headpipe to 1/8 and no stinger coolant line added. You must have a waterbypass though to keep the water flowing through the motor, I added my tee in between the cyl head and the head pipe coolant passages. I thought I would be smoking couplers but the pipe run cool enough, did gain a little bit of extra noise but nothin untolerable

I got my mani from coffman for around $65 shipped. (707) 462-7881 Ask for a Coffman sizzler mani for a 650 6m6 yamaha, they have alot of extras they are tryin to get rid of.

No comparison compared to the stock setup!! My cheater hit harder than my coffman sizzler when I dried it out. You can also remove the pipe much easier to get to the starter compared to the heavy stocker.

You can get a 650sx exhaust for cheap, I bought a mint one complete even with a mani for $45 shipped.

just go with the factory pipe, save up......i have bought the fast route one to many times, and regret it every time when i could have had the "real power" if i would have just saved. sometimes it just takes a winter project to be able to save for the right pipe. it's worth it in the end

If running a 701 cyl you need to port match the mani to the cyl. Use your new 701 mani gasket for a template to trace. theres not a whole lot extra material with the 650 mani so dont go too wild with it and make your gasket surface too narrow where your gasket seals. A dremel and sanding drums work well. Its not hard.

I road tnj4life's ski this year with the cheater, hit hard mid and top. last season had the protec on my stock fx1 for a few weeks. Not a bad pipe at all, bout the same in my book. Its all the stock fx1 pump can handle. That and a rev limiter mod.

Haha, you did? I think you tried my coffman sizzler out =].

If you want the best get a b pipe, driftmasters setup hits harder than mine. He does have a few more goodies on his ski though. I think that shower drain gives about 10 hp hehe.

I really was impressed with the cheater though, gave my sn more low end. Alright i'll go ahead and tell the story. I was getting bored with the sn and was considering selling it and concentrate on building my fx1 but I wanted to keep the sizzler pipe off of it. I decided to throw a cheater pipe on it cause everyone knows you can get more money out of a ski with a aftermarket pipe. So I put it on there and done my cooling just like hardcores. I took it out just to ride one more time before selling and I was shocked to find out that I gained low end over the sizzler. I figured it wouldnt be as good of a pipe. I actually kept the sn longer cause of the newfound power, but then I still sold it. The biggest trick is drying it out. Ive got the sizzler on my fx1 now and ive dried it out similar and it hits harder now.

OK, picked me up a 650sx pipe, I need a manifold now, there is a coffman's on ebay for 100 bux, is that about correct or is there a cheaper source? I have the tools and no problem doing the port matching, but I would like to have it matched before I break down the old stock pipe. Is the cyl to mani gasket close enough as guide to port the manifold? I would like to have it done ahead of time so I can have a better back to back compare.

my ski looks bone stock except; modified stock head, primer, some screens removed from stock F/A, modified rev limiter, solas impeller, grate & plate, big bilge (850gpm i think), still sissy lavender with stock graphics...

On the cheat pipe dry out- any one completely plug the head pipe injection hole then inject water at the current "drain" location (jetted)?

plans after modified KawaBpipemann's exhaust: 83mm pistons, finger port cases, clean up port castings, increase blow down T/A, re mod head for 83mm.

Who can get me some engine specs? I need:
Exhaust Open (either degrees or mm from TDC)
Rod length
stroke

I will use that to see what length if any to add to the pip mid section.
