What next?

Well ive been riding my 550 for a week or so now and im getting pretty comfortable riding/sliding/jumping wake but i dont know where to go next. i want to buy a sj but i cant till next summer. what i want to learn is how to setup wake and get air off of it. it seems whatever i try only bumps over it. would a shorter or d cut plate help? what about a trim system? right now its got an extended plate, would that be messing me up any? i kinda like the idea of a trim setup but i cant figure out what i would need to buy, i looked at the c.a.t.s thread but im just a bit confused. i guess it would help[ if i was more familiar with my ski but its a 1/2 hour away

edit: i suppose what would help would be some cheap mods i should try or some "instructional" videos for tricks. seems all the vids i watch on youtube are edited to where i cant watch the setup wake

As far as the setup wake, watch a little freestyle video and get some ideas. The extended plate will affect your abililty to get air. Just my .02. I am still somewhat a rookie to freestyle.

Many folks use S turns. Others prefer U turns. Keep trying them varying your speed. Stand in the back of the tray. I concur with dumping the longer plate.

I pulled the extended WC plate off the 650 yesterday and threw a stocker on and it was much more fun.

ne1 know some good videos to watch setup technique? the stuff i watched last night was all edited or was in surf so it didnt help much.
so i guess i should pickup a stock 550 plate and mabey even d cut it?

are 550 plates the same as 650sx's? i looked through a few pages of the forsale section but didnt see any 550 parts. are there any other cheap mods i should look at doing? i really wanna try a shorter plate and trim setup
