the big bore a flattop or a dome piston setup? I would go with whatever hit best at bottom obviously, but if the porting is off on the bog bore its hopeless.

Uggghhh i wish I had your problems Brent. At least you have a choice, I'm going to be running a 61x motor with a pipe and head and I don't have a freakin choice. Like I told you on the phone, run the 701 it will just enough power to not wear you out for 5 days of straight riding, it wont be picky with the jetting i.e. you wont be messing with it the whole time, and it will be more reliable.

Bring the BB as a back up motor in case I blow up my motor haha.

What kind of ignition do you have? If it's a stock ignition, you would benefit from more advance down low. I'd keep your BB and work with your ignition and carb tuning.

Get it tuned, 'light switch' motors are normally because of carb tuning, being very rich down low and lean up top, in the mid range it gets close to perfect so it hits hard then runs out from being lean.

Or even the other way around too, lean down low, hits perfect tuning in the transition, but richens up.

Want to borrow my intake setup for a weekend?
I think I agree with Jett, my limited 701 with dual 44's and Riva freeride pipe had unreal hit at midrange but doggy off idle no matter how I tuned it. Riding my brothers same setup with stock carbs is so much more fun as the smoothness and linear power make the difference. 2 builders have confirmed that the 44's are just too much carb down low and don't have enough air velocity, thus the lightswitch effect. I also found a lower pitch prop with the rev limit mod cdi helped smooth it out a lot, it was so bad I almost could not cruize the river. Took my Solas x prop to 12/15.
