The waverunner III has a 701 in it 61x case and cylinder. Just replaced my buddies last year. That is a 94 I believe with a 701 about 60hp motor. But if it's a 93 it has the 650 in it.

Check the last 2 numbers on the vin it'll give you the year. Anything above 93 is a 701

Depending on your intentions for the thing, it might be worth it even if it's a 650. Hey, I have a Sevilor inflatable I paid $50 for and it has it's place (now in the basement, lol)

jut go offer him $200 and buy it, when you get home decide what it is.
if its a 650 sell the pump and crank, and scavenge the bolts, cables, and rubber straps and toss the rest away.

its a 144mm pump with a different drive shaft I think.

the midshaft MIGHT be the same.

But yes it worhwhile parting out
the stator etc is worth something
