300/440/550 What kind of ski is this? and rooster tail?

All I know is its an 86' kawasaki 440. is 440 the type? Ive seen names like sx, and superjet, just curious..
Also Ive seen skis have rooster tails, how do I get mine to do that?

Kawasaki made a JS400, JS300, JS440, JS550, 440SX, 550SX, 650SX, 300SX, 750SX, 750SXi, 750SXi Pro, 800SXR and maybe another model that I forgot.

Yamaha made the Super Jet and FX-1.

For a rooster tail, you have to have a trim nozzle of some sort. It's for show.

440 is the engine cc's.All 400's,440's,550's have for the most part the same body.You could install any of those size motors in the ski and they would all work.Hope that answers your question!

That's true, I'm thinking of the old Rooster Booster or whatever it was called.

Is there anyway to tell what model that is? and is there a way to put a rooster tail/safety spout on this?

Post a pic of the engine, it might help. The rooster tail comes on all Yamahas, except its called a visability spout. its just and "L" shaped tubebolted in the steering nozel thats diverts a portion of the jet stream into the air. Most people remove them. I'm sure someone has one laying around

JS440 . Looks like it has a old westcoast flame arrestor and a half pipe (factory is the brand of pipe). Also put standard black fuel line back in it, that colored stuff is bad news. Looks like a fun little ski.
