Well, I recently found myself unemployed and there is a good chance that my step-dad will be unemployed for the summer. I can weld and fabricate, he is a professional welder at a boat shop (not many orders coming in because of the market) and between us, we have all the tools to do a lot of custom work.

So.....

Let's get a list of parts you'd like to see built (or copied) for a cheaper price than what is currently available. Give me a price range of what you'd like to pay for said item and I'll start drawing up some ideas and running them past him.

I'm thinking so far:

Home stand
Beach cart
Pole brackets
Handle pole

Let me know what you think.....

Steve

P.S. There are no guarantees that anything will materialize from this, just brainstorming...

Make a new TNT chamber.

That would be nice, but I'd need one to copy. These damn 2 strokes require just the right exhaust relex to make them do what you want. But that is a good suggestion. I hadn't thought about it.

You do any silicone work by chance?

Like what? You're wife need some "enhancements"?

I can probably put both of you to work up here at our shipyard, send me a pm if you are interested.

If it comes to that, I'll hit you up.

Not a big money maker but I'm sure you could sell a few.

A pole bracket for the SN that accepts a RN pole.
Legdragger used to make those and they work great.
I know there are a few SN riders that would gladly pick one up.

i understand you are looking for work, and commend you for asking what consumers want
however becareful on the "copy" thing... some products may be copyrighted...

plus copying x-metals stuff.... i mean Pat and Chuck offer alot, i don't want to see someone short coming them.. thats just uncool

i'm not the type to want to steal someone's product or ideas like some other companies out there (and this applies to everything in general)

as mentioned perhaps a shop stand or storage stand that can be shipped
maybe a trailer, especially for stand ups as i don't see a major seller out there
of course competing with the overseas slave labor, oooppss did i say that, i meant cheap labor will be hard to beat.

you want an idea(s)....
make bolt in roll bars for the civics, hyndais and those cars these kids put those 10" wide tachs on.... if you can make that cheap,,, they will sell
another one i was going to make back in 1990, but got a major case of the layness... make a remote locator for the TV remote. like have a button on the TV that makes the remote beep to find it.... beats ripping the living room apart to find the sucker... and YES we all have done that at some point in time and YES you need to have the FCC approval............

with your skills and Obama's dream of building roads and schools... you should easily be employed once our stimulus money is disseminated to all the execs as bonuses and our (the average joe's) taxes get increased becasue there will be no money left withing 5 years. (Seriously these companies don't have money and are in hole now... how the Phuck they gonna pay it back???? wake up america)... lol sorry had to throw the politics stuff in... and yes i am a victim of this economy, and free trade as my job in 2007 was sent overseas, or should say 5 people overseas have my job as well as many others... but i took a 70% cut to take something for now (and i knew in Dec 07 that bad things were coming for this economy)... GREED is the American dream... not that white picket fence two car garage house with a hot house wife, two adoring obeying smart little kids, two car garage with historical musclecar and inground pool, and of course all paid for lol

on a serious sidenote... not sure what your military experience is... but they governement contracting jobs are always looking for HIGHLY skilled workers...

just becareful copying or stealing someones products or ideas....

just some ideas, not trying to bash anyone....

I shouldn't have said copy as in make the exact same item, but maybe take a product idea and go with it. Such as the handlepole that Highroller is making could be concidered a "copy" of a RRP pole.

I didn't realize that someone had the rights to the TNT chamber. I don't want to step on toes here.

I will probably start with the beach cart/tote if I start with anything. It would be able to bolt together for shipping/storage. The $28 wheels from beachcartsusa.com only hold 77lbs each. One step up would hold 121lbs each, but would cost over $150 to get a set to my door.
