What impeller for a stock ski?

Shifty

- SuperJet Thursday -
I am trying to get a little more responsiveness from my girlfriends 2003 SJ. I have a #0 lightened OEM flywheel I am going to put on there and I am going to bump the timing up a tad through the stator. If I do this timing advance (2mm ccw), will my advance be too high for extended WOT runs?

This ski currently has a WaveBlaster impeller installed. What is a better prop for a basically stock SuperJet?

I don't really want to go into the E-box but I do have an MSD enhancer I could install.

Thanks for the help,

I've been running an old "I" series Solas impeller in my stock SJ. I did however had it repitched to 13/16 and set back back Impros. Otherwise it would have been much too tall for the stock motor. I've been quite impressed with this impeller, but I don't have anything to compare it to as far as a SJ with a stock motor.

The "I" series isn't the best option but it was the cheapest and quickest option I had at the time. If I were you, I'd look for:

9/15 Hooker from Impros
or

12/17 Skat Trak Swirl
13/17 Solas Swirl

Some people feel the Skat Trak and Solas are still a little too much impeller for a stock motor, but it depends what you're looking for. Many people get the Solas Swirl repitched a little lower with a set back to add a little better hookup. A friend of mine just picked up a new 13/17 Solas on eBay for $99. It'll be interesting to see what it's like on his 2002 stock SJ
