man i can't get the cylinders off for the life of me. the shop manual just says "remove cylinder nuts, lift off cylinders. Am I like pulling against negative pressure in the crank case or something? Maybe i just need to hit the gym.
From what i recall there were spots to pry at with a screwdriver like djkorn said. I cant think of what would be stopping you from prying it off. But definitely either take the plug out of have the head off so that you can release the vacuum from the cylinders when you pull up
yeah the head is already off - that came off no problem. I didn't know if that spot was for prying. I just tried it and almost bent a screwdriver trying to pry it off there. maybe I should wrangle up a pry bar? I just don't like cranking on stuff like that so hard but I guess I'll have to!
if they have been on for a long time they can be difficult to remove..i had to replace my cyl base gasket last night and mine slid right off although my motor has relitevly low hrs on it... just tap it with the mallet alternating sides..
