OK so i got this used diablo hood and the area around the hood hooks was all broke (the small pieces of aluminum are the "stock" backing/nut plates)
this is my fix for the problem , i cut out the damaged area then layed up a piece of bios glass to fix the cracked/cut out area.
as for the backing plate i made these larger 3/16 aluminum plates do you think this is an overkill my feeling is the more surface area to displace the force of pancakes and under rotated barrel rolls the better. I have been told "shave" weight were ever possible these don't weight much however just a reference i drew a line on one plate where i think i could cut the plate down just to save a little weight but i don't want to cut the hood liner up in and potentially have to paint the out side of the hood again due to the hood cracking in this area, So let me know what you think about these plates and there application.

bviously these plates will be inside the hood as a backing plate the picture of the plates on the exterior of the hood is just for reference to the location.
