what cleaner should I use before I glass?

I am going to start cutting for footholds in the morning. I need to clean the paint real good with something before I start glassing in the footholds. what should I use?

go to autobodydepot.com and search for cleaner/degreaser.... that should give you some good recomendations as to what to use

If theres paint i would sand/grind past it to you get to glass... then clean it off with some sort of solvent- acetone or mineral spirts or something simialar

yes I agree don't try to glass over paing .grind it down to the smc or fiberglass surface.

I plan on sanding it down, I just want to make sure it does not have any grease on it or anything.

PPG makes a wax and grease remover for fiberglass applications called DX330. You can grab it at any auto paint supply store for under $15.

or buy acetone for $3 at walmart.
