Yeah same here. I've been putting it off for a while but last time I connected it, I noticed that almost half of the cable was frayed. I just bought a new cable and wheel from jetmaniac.

ya, thanks for asking the original question. the answer is so you can save money running a kwai cable! mine melted on the waterbox and salt water got in there.... ya it was toasty lol

You can machine the cable slot deeper so that less trigger movement is necessary to get to WOT.

That's what I really want. Do you mean drill it closer to the center of the wheel and/or route out the cable slot?

It's not really fooling you into thinking you have more power if you can't get to WOT. Unless I position my hand perfectly on the throttle, I either can't pull the throttle lever fast enough or can't pull it far enough to get to WOT. So I'm physically out of the water before I can get to WOT. If I grab the very edge of my lever, I can give the ski the full beans which in fact gives me more power but it's hard to keep a wet gloves on a point when you're moving it so the results are unpredictable.
