My dad bought a ~1995 kraze in pieces around 1996 for $500 we ordered some parts and when they came they didn't fit the ski. Called the parts company (i think it was someone out of minnesota doing parts for mastercraft) and they said "oh you don't have the campaign kit" we had no clue what they were talking about. At that time Mastercraft had exited pwc market so the parts guy couldn't suggest a dealler to install the "campaign kit" we told him that we work on our own skis so he said he would sent us the dealer campaign parts and would could install our self. I remember %100 the following parts that we were sent ro replace. Entire pump, carb jets. head to pipe brace, cylinder head, steering column stuff. new fuel tank vent.., the rest is taxing my memory.

they asked us to send back key parts like old carb jets, used head gasket... most parts i have chilling in an old box on the shelf with the masses of Kawi parts.

Is there some thing special about the original wetjet kraze head? Ours was swapped not sure why? I still have the kraze and the spare head, but haven't had the ambition to measure for differences. If any one knows the history of the pre campaign kit wetjet kraze I would love to hear. Thanks

I think they are blowing smoke... AND if you picked the ski up for $500 and then ordered that kind of stuff you will have a TON of money in that ski. I have sold 2 of those skis for $500 a piece last year. They were both running.. Not good but running.

There was a major recall on the early 701 Wetjets. The kit had half of the parts needed to make a ski. New steering head, pump, seat pan, etc. 96+ models had all the updates. They were good performing boats with lots of maintenance issues.

All the parts were provided free of charge. The parts that they sent us in the kit far exceeded the $500 we paid for the ski. At the time the ski was only a couple of years old also. Once we got it back together we ran it hard for years. The only maintenance issues were had were stupid things like guages and steering system. The post campaign kit 701 seemed very reliable from my experiences. My main question was about the head. I still have the original head it has a broken exhaust bracket bolt in it but other than that it looks fine. Does any one know if the original Kraze heads were higher compression than the replacements? Has anyone used one of the originals for a 61x build?

Ah!!! I took it that you just went through all that. What is the compression now. The stock compression when the motor was new was about 150ish max but pretty well any aftermarket head will be higher compression.
