Wetjet carb in a fx1... ?

Hi , Has anyone fitted a carb from a wetjet kraze (46mm) , to a fx1. If so , do you just unbolt the original and bolt on the bigger carb to the original inlet manifold , or do you have to use the manifold & reeds from the wetjet...? I need a bit more grunt from my ski hope this would help. :)

Your problem is the pump, adding power wont help much from 0-15 MPH. A stock 650 superjet makes more static thrust than a 100hp FX1.

The Wetjet Kraze intake manifold is one piece with built in reed stuffers. You need to pull all your stock intake setup and then mount the stock reeds to the Wetjet manifold and bolt it all back in and your done. I would suggest switching out the stock reed petals to some a/m or carbon ones while you have them out.

If I fitted a 144mm pump/prop , would that improve take off etc. without making any other engine mods.?
A Kawasaki pump mod is a cheap and easier way to get better thrust. A Yamaha 144 can be better if the entire inlet is also enlarged, this is a lot more work though.

Just buy a 20/25 Skat Swirl from Impros and have them re-pitch it to a 20/26 and call it a day. I rode a FX-1 recently with a MSD enhancer, high comp head, b-pipe, and the stock pump with the above impeller and it ripped great. No need to do a pump mod.
